UNSPOKEN THREADS

This project aims to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Kingston Fashio Education. The project starts with the historic victory of Kingston College of Art in the International Young Fashion Design Awards in 1965, exploring the social and cultural impact of fashion on Kingston's past, present and future, and focusing on issues such as diversity, sustainability and local identity. A mobile and detachable exhibition system will be designed to display multimedia content such as clothing, images, documents and audio. The project not only focuses on the narrative expression and viewing experience of the exhibits, but also emphasizes the adaptability of the structure, materials, ergonomics and exhibition system.

The actual venue for the exhibition design is Fusebox (2 Bucklands Wharf, Thames Side, Kingston Upon Thames, KT1 1TF). The system also needs to be applicable to the possibility of future display at other venues (such as the Thames Street retail space).
